Sacramento Semester

The CSU-wide Sac Semester Program is a wonderful opportunity for students throughout our system to live and learn California politics in Sacramento. The program is fully immersive, consisting of six units of internship, a Thursday evening seminar on California politics, and a Friday Morning Conversation Series with key figures from around the Capitol. Participants earn 12 units that are transferable back to their home CSU campus.

The program runs in Spring semester only and the seats are limited. Since the program requires most students to relocate to Sacramento for a semester, it offers opportunities to apply for scholarships and additional funding for housing funding. The online application deadline is usually the first week of November. Click on this link to learn more.

Humboldt typically sends one to two Politics students per year to this program. An applicant must fill out the on-line application and also interview with the official campus contact, who is Dr. Stephanie Burkhalter, Professor, Department of Politics. She can be reached for an appointment at stephanie.burkhalter@humboldt.edu
