Biography:

I am thrilled to be a member of the Politics Department at Cal Poly Humboldt. I draw from a background in political science, speech and debate, and social science to contribute to my research and my classes. When I graduated from Northern Arizona University in 2010, I began working as a campaign office manager for the Arizona Democratic Party and former U.S. Representative Ann Kirkpatrick. After working in politics, I spent a couple of years teaching social studies and English in Thailand. I returned to the United States in 2012 and made my way to Northern California.

Living in Humboldt County has profoundly shaped who I am today and I continue to apply myself as a community organizer, student, and educator. While completing my M.A. in Social Science at Cal Poly Humboldt, I focused my research locally and keyed into the history of social movements, cannabis, and political structures that have shaped the socio-environmental landscape. My work continues to explore different ways of knowing and offers lessons in strengthening our own relationships with each other and our biosphere.

Areas of Interest:
