This Friday April 29: 4-5:30pm: 

"Unsettling Settler-Colonialism in Words: A Case Study of Far Northern California": Join the Politics Club and the Department of Politics in the Native American Forum (BSS 162) or pre-register on Zoom here for a talk on the impact of Yurok language access in California high school curricula and collaborative methodology as part of decolonization. Please bring your Cal Poly Humboldt ID or proof of vaccination as these will be checked at the door per University policy. Featured Panelists:

Women’s Leadership Workshop: When Female Students Lead at theCSU Board Of Trustees: Monday, May 2, 2022, 12pm -1pm. The CSU Board of Trustees was created in 1960. Ms. Kathleen A. Carlson served as the first Student Trustee from 1976 to 1978.  Since that time twice as many male student trustees have served as female student trustees. Come and learn from our current female student trustees about the significance of their voices in the CSU system and in state and national advocacy. Student Legal Lounge is hiring! The Student Legal Lounge aims to mitigate hardships for students and the community by building and strengthening relationships throughout Humboldt County. We work with all kinds of organizations on campus with the mutual goal of empowering folks in every way we can.

The Lounge focuses on making the law more accessible. Our campaign is: Know Your Rights! Our research is translated into brochures, website pages, information packets, workshops, and individual meetings. Positions start at $15 an hour. To learn more about opportunities click here.

Join El Leñador - The Bilingual Student Newspaper El Leñador is an award-winning, monthly newspaper providing news to Latinx and diverse communities on and off campus. In print and online ElLenadornews.com. El Leñador needs writers, translators, photographers, videographers, copy editors, artists, graphic designers and a website manager/tech for Fall 2022. Open to all majors! No experience necessary. You do not need to know Spanish to participate. Staff write articles in English and they are translated into Spanish. Stories can also be originally produced in Spanish and translated into English. Class will be Mondays & Wednesdays 3 to 4:50 p.m. in person.
