  1. Last Day to Add and Drop classes coming up. Monday, September 6 is the Labor Day holiday and it's also the last day to ADD a class or DROP a class without a serious and compelling reason (see this activities and deadlines calendar from the Registrar's Office).
  2. Department of State internship, deadline Sept. 7. The U.S. Department of State is now accepting applications for its spring 2022 Student Internship Program (unpaid). Visit the Intern page of their Careers site for more information about the Internship Program, and to start the online application process via USAJobs
  3. Virtual part-time job fair, Sept. 8. This virtual recruiting event will connect you with on- and off campus employers seeking Humboldt students for local and online part-time jobs. Wednesday, Sept. 8, between 11am and 3pm on humboldt.joinhandshake.com. 1) Register at Humboldt.joinhandshake.com> Events> Career Fair. 2) Sign up to meet directly with your selected employers in a group or one-on-one session. 3) Check back regularly for new employers and sessions.
  4. Politics Department Fall Welcome: Friday September 10, 4-5pm. Get to know your professors and have some fun with your fellow political science students. There will be a Kahoot! and other fun activities as well as a chance to win prizes. Organized by your peer mentors and the Politics Club. Email politics@humboldt.edu for Zoom access details.
  5. Peer mentor office hours. Politics Department peer mentors Samuel Perez and Serena Archila host drop-in office hours every week. Let them help you: plan a path through the major, answer coursework questions, help motivate you to stay focused on your success, and support you during challenging times.
