1) Cal Poly Humboldt Sustainability Newsletter 

Browse the most recent newsletter to find information on events, campus sustainability projects, community happenings, and other useful tips. This newsletter is authored by Green Campus, a student group that operates under Cal Poly Humboldt's Office of Sustainability. Upcoming items of possible interest to Politics students include:

2) M.A. in International Relations program at San Francisco State University

The M.A. in International Relations program at San Francisco State University is affordable, diverse, international and impactful. Our program gives students flexibility to pursue a semester-long internship in the IR field or conduct in-depth academic research culminating in a thesis. Our graduates go on in careers in the State Department, Bay Area NGOs, Think Tanks, Government positions and Ph.D. programs around the world. We are the only CSU department to be an affiliate member of the prestigious Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs offering numerous professional opportunities for our students and graduates. Find out more about our graduate program at the following info sessions. Our deadline for Fall is March. 15th. 3) Volunteer days at the Food Sovereignty Lab and community tribal gardens

Supported by the work of one of our Spring 2023 interns, the Rou Dalagurr Food Sovereignty Lab & Traditional Ecological Knowledge Institute aims to support the ongoing work of our regional Indigenous food producers in community and tribal gardens. We will be attending volunteer days at a number of these gardens, while continuing to host volunteer days at the FSL Indigenous Garden. See the flyer below for some upcoming FSL volunteer days and the attached document for volunteer and opportunities in community and tribal gardens. If you have not volunteered with the Rou Dalagurr Food Sovereignty Lab in the past, you MUST sign up as a volunteer to participate:

5) NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program, February 17

Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) is a National Science Foundation (NSF) program that recognizes and supports outstanding early career graduate students from a wide range of disciplines, including social sciences and traditional STEM. This panel will consist of current and previous GRFP fellows from Cal Poly Humboldt. They will discuss the application process and their current experiences, as well as answer questions from interested applicants. Applicants must be pursuing full-time research-based master’s and doctoral degrees - but this panel will also be informative for undergraduates who intend to pursue a master's or doctorate in the future! Questions? 6) Peace Corps Prep Certificate

Thinking about serving in the Peace Corps after you graduate? Hoping to work in international development? Interested in community service and intercultural understanding? Consider earning Cal Poly Humboldt's Peace Corps Prep Certificate!
 
The Peace Corps Prep Certificate program is an official partnership between the Peace Corps and Cal Poly Humboldt. As a Peace Corps Prep student, you will gain specialized training and experience, foreign language skills, intercultural competence, and leadership skills, preparing you for international service opportunities. Undergraduates from any major are encouraged to apply!  You may not need to take any additional courses to earn the Peace Corps Certificate, because courses that you have taken or are already planning to take may satisfy all the requirements.
