5) URPC Open Forums - Nov. 1, 15, and 29
This is a four-part series taking place every other Tuesday throughout the fall semester. All Open Forums will take place from 9:00 am-10:30 am in The Great Hall and will be recorded and posted to view for those that cannot attend.
 

Tuesday, October 18, 2022: Budget Planning & Enrollment Update
Content: Budget 101, overview of where we are, where we are headed, and how we all fit, highlight fall budget planning activities (including poly), highlight Fall Census enrollment and current enrollment projections (recording)

Tuesday, November 1, 2022: Graduation Initiative 2025 (GI 2025) Retention & Graduation, Enrollment Demographics
Content: Overview of Cal Poly Humboldt enrollment demographics, overview of Cal Poly Humboldt retention and graduation statistics, update on the five GI 2025 priorities, highlight new CO student success dashboards, highlights from the CSU GI 2025 Convening

Tuesday, November 15, 2022: Capital Projects, Maintenance, and Space Planning
Content: Overview of current capital, maintenance, and space planning efforts underway. In addition, we will overview the USFAC committee and space planning process. 

Tuesday, November 29, 2022: Beyond the General Fund: Highlighting the Broader Ecosystem of Resources at Humboldt, Including Research, Philanthropy, and Community Partnerships
Content: Panelist session highlighting initiatives underway and future opportunities

 
6) Community Volunteer Ambassador Program
Join a diverse group of emerging leaders to assist park units in building lasting connections to local communities. Over 100 young professionals will serve as Community Volunteer Ambassador members for 50-52 week terms at National Park Service sites across the country from Hawaii to Florida, over the course of the year. CVAs support Volunteer-in-Parks programs at National Park Service sites nationwide. The CVA Program was developed to support NPS sites in connecting with their local communities through service and to provide young adults with a professional development opportunity within the National Park Service. CVAs provide capacity for NPS sites to establish community partnerships, develop new volunteer opportunities, and build volunteer program resources. 
 
7) School for Environment & Sustainability virtual visit day, Nov. 4
The University of Michigan School for Environment and Sustainability (SEAS) will be holding a virtual Fall Visit Day for prospective graduate students on Friday, November 4th. This is a great opportunity for prospective students to attend exciting presentations and virtual meet-and-greets designed to help them get to know the SEAS community. This is an opportunity to meet with leading sustainability scholars and get advice from graduate students about how to make the most of the programs at U-M SEAS! Register here.

9) Reminder: Campus Dialogue on Race, Oct. 24-28

Campus/Community Dialogue on Race (now in its 24th year) is an annual event at Cal Poly Humboldt that invites students, staff, faculty, administrators, and community members to present and attend programs that relate to racial justice and its intersections with all forms of oppression and resistance. The vision of Campus & Community Dialogue on Race is to achieve racial, social, and environmental justice. Our objective is to create spaces and structures for reflection, analysis, dialogue and positive strategies for change.
