3) Toyon Multilingual Literary Magazine submissions due Sept. 30
Toyon Multilingual Literary Magazine is once again seeking submissions for publication. The submission deadline for Toyon 69: The Sex Issue is September 30. See the Toyon website for more information and submission details. We accept a variety of genres, including poetry, short story, creative nonfiction, visual art, spoken word recordings, critical analysis, multilingual literature, and translations.
 
4) Graduate Studies Student Assistant Needed

Graduate Studies would like to hire an undergraduate or 1st year graduate student for our office. The position requires a minimum of a two-semester commitment (remainder of fall 2022 - spring 23) with fall semester hours devoted primarily to training for the spring. The position pays $16.00/hr, with 10-15 total work hours per week for the fall semester (more for the spring semester) and we will accommodate class schedules. An interest in website (Drupal) and social media platforms is helpful, but not required. 5) All About Civics, Oct. 5-Oct. 28

The Humboldt County Office of Education's All About Civics program is coordinating a series of Q&A meetings with elected leaders during the month of October. The primary purpose of the program is to give local high school students a chance to meet elected officials, learn more about our government, and ask questions, but Cal Poly Humboldt students are also invited to attend these meetings.

6) Study abroad scholarships, deadlines October 6
1) Global Ambassadors Fund. Applications to support study abroad travel happening SPRING or SUMMER 2023 are due October 6. See the Cal Poly Humboldt International Studies website for further information and application instructions. 2) Gilman Scholarship. The U.S. Department of State’s Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program enables students of limited financial means to study or intern abroad, providing them with skills critical to our national security and economic prosperity. Applications are now being accepted for programs that start between December 1, 2022-October 1, 2023. See here for details on how to apply. Award amounts vary (up to $5,000) depending on the student's recommendation group in the selection process, financial need, and length of the study abroad program.
