Award Information
Kalb-Haston Award
This $1,000 award and minimum $250 second-place award were established by David Kalb, a political science alumnus of Cal Poly Humboldt (’76), who served as president of Associated Students. Bruce Haston, a former political science professor at Humboldt for more than 25 years and a mentor of David Kalb’s while he was a student, also contributes to the award. It is presented each spring to a student who has demonstrated personal commitment and leadership by taking an active role in student government, particularly through the Office of Associated Students. Students who have shown leadership through other campus or community activities may also apply. Political science majors will be given special consideration.
